How the maths is verified

Every formula lives in a single module with automated tests. Those tests check the arithmetic against values derived by hand, and separately check that the worked example printed on each page matches what that page's calculator actually returns.

That second check matters more than it sounds. A page can document a method and implement a different one, and a reader has no way to tell. Tying the two together means the example you read is the arithmetic you get.

Where a formula contains a constant — the 99 in the acres-per-hour formula, for instance — the derivation is shown on the page rather than asserted, and cross-checked against a manufacturer's published figures.

What these tools do not do

They do not tell you what your market pays. Lawn care prices vary enormously by region, season, route density and customer type, and a single national figure would be wrong for almost everyone reading it and stale within a season.

What they do is work out the price that covers your costs and target profit. Whether your market will pay it is a judgement no calculator can make — but knowing your own floor is what lets you make that judgement instead of guessing.
